Main Points: What is the process for DESIGNING an effective KM strategy? • Identify key stakeholders • Development of organizational strategy • Get buy-in of stakeholders / communicate process and progress • Vision o WHY? What’s the reason behind the strategy • Taking Stock of where we are at with knowledge management • Knowledge Audit o Needs assessment – what is the problem you are trying to solve?  Understand demand / landscape  Needs assessment for KM – what are the pain points? • Participatory development of plan o Theory of change – who needs what to achieve outcomes (clear, shared outcomes & clear expectations / visions) o Anticipating questions that others could have • Circle back with key stakeholders o Validate / get feedback on draft • Sharing / Dissemination
