About Initiatives

This entry point of our Wiki provides access to information around initiatives of different nature undertaken in the context of KM4Dev. The only type of KM4Dev related initiatives that have a separate entry point (see menu in left-hand column) are Events.

Ongoing Initiatives

• KM4D Journal: the Knowledge Management for Development Journal is a peer-reviewed, community-based journal on knowledge management for development – for and by development practitioners, researchers and policymakers - and is closely related to the KM4Dev community.
• KStoolkit: KM4Dev members are actively contributing to keep the Knowledge Sharing toolkit website updated.
• Save the KS Toolkit wiki: a group of KM4Dev members working to transfer the KStoolkit to another wiki platform

Completed Initiatives

• African KM4Dev Community Week: A one week event to help connect African KM4Dev members with one another and gain from each other's lessons as well as develop ideas for activities that could benefit them in the future in the global community. The African KM4Dev Community is an awarded proposal from the KM4Dev Innovation Fund 2012.
• KM4Dev Learning and Monitoring 2012-2013: the KM4Dev Learning and Monitoring (L&M) group is coordinating the monitoring and learning around the activities planned and implemented as part of the IFAD-supported overall plan for 2012 activities.
• The Social Network Analysis (SNA) of KM4Dev has been documented here
• The Envisioning KM4Dev Futures - 2013 - 2014 was funded by IFAD. It included several research projects that were funded by IFAD and two reports, one that summarized them and the other that considered implications for the future.
• KM4Dev Innovation Fund 2012: This is a small grant fund that will provide seed funding for several new ideas/projects/outputs. The Innovation Fund will run from October 2012 to January 2013.
• Community Technology Learning Lab - CTLab: the Community Technology Learning Lab (“CTLab”) was active through June and July 2012 to raise awareness of what is technology stewardship and how it can be approached.
