About Abdul Rahman Ilyas

Abdul Rahman Ilyas is currently the CEO of IKP Center for Advancements in Agricultural Practice (ICAAP) a center promoted by International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), a CGIAR Center headquartered at Washington with a South Asia Regional Office at New Delhi. ICAAP has its corporate office in Chennai and Site office in the Genome Valley, Hyderabad.

He has more than 18+ Years of experience in working with multinationals, not for profit institutions, Government organizations, Corporate Social Responsibility organization (CSR) and International agricultural research and development organizations. Some of his previous engagements were with Govt of Andhra Pradesh as Officer on Special Duty - Horticulture Marketing & Processing; Dr.Reddys Foundation (of Dr.Reddys Laboratories) as Head-Agro Rural Initiatives and with International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) as COO-Innovation & Partnership. With a business management background and passion for agriculture & development, groomed his career in the agribusiness development sector.

In his career span he has successfully managed multiple projects, developed operational strategies and steered major projects from concept to creation. He is highly resourceful, innovative and tactical in supporting the organization through critical turnaround situations and coordinating rapid growth expansions. He has his niche’ in maintaining professional contacts with organizational affiliates, special interest groups, Government and Corporate Partners and highly effective in organizational liaison, with and service to a diverse national and international stakeholders. He has handled projects like Science Parks / Incubators, Technology Commercialization Platforms, Collaborative Research Programs, PPP Models, Agri Export Zones, Food Parks, Micro Enterprise Initiatives, investment desks and innovative social enterprise models and development projects involving farmers, entrepreneurs from rural and peri-urban geographies.

ICAAP is currently working on various mechanisms to strengthen agricultural extension intermediaries through collaborative projects, communities strengthening collaborative research, value chain innovations and infrastructure development.,
